I think the profane message was actually in response to a different phone company issue, one that was more personally offensive to me personally thus the loss of The Cool. Judging by the restrained but subtly mocking tone of this letter, I don't think the MCI problem ever reached the point of profanity.
I am reluctant to question you though, because you are usually right about these things, and Addington says he also remembers the profane call.
